NV-only species (deliberately introduced, found only in the Ruby Mountains area of Elko/White Pine counties). Requires a free-use snowcock hunting permit obtained online after July 1 each year. Table in CR 26-13 does not print a specific year on the Sept 1 - Nov 30 range; accompanying memo states 'No changes' for the 2026-27/2027-28 cycle, so this is read as a standing/recurring annual date range. Himalayan snowcock has one of the most geographically precise ranges in this entire dataset: the species exists in North America only in Nevada's Ruby Mountains and adjoining East Humboldt Range, near Elko, following NDOW's 1963-1979 introduction of roughly 2,205 birds. There is no broader statewide or multi-region distribution to describe. NDOW's own GIS occupied-habitat layer confirms these are two geographically distinct mountain-range clusters (split below), both within NDOW's own legal hunt-area definition (Elko and White Pine counties only).
