Nevada's pheasant range is legally statewide (cocks-only, November 1-30) but is honestly described across every independent source as small, scattered agricultural pockets rather than a continuous range. The state has limited irrigated farmland to begin with. The consistent, independently corroborated picture is northern and western Nevada's irrigated valleys: the Fallon area (Lahontan Valley, Churchill County), Lovelock (Pershing County) and the broader Humboldt River basin, and Mason Valley Wildlife Management Area (Lyon County), with canal banks, ditch lines, and alfalfa-field edges called out specifically as the actual micro-habitat rather than open farmland generally. A second, separate, and much smaller signal exists at Overton Wildlife Management Area (Moapa Valley, Clark County), where NDOW has directly stocked pheasant since the 1960s, though that population is now described as low.
