Not a standalone Nebraska category.Chukar is bundled with gray/Hungarian partridge under NE's single 'Partridge' season and aggregate bag limit (per NGPC's 2024-25 Small Game & Waterfowl Guide: 'PARTRIDGE (Includes Hungarian/gray and chukar partridges)'). NGPC's own upland-species page states chukar 'does not have an established wild population in Nebraska' and is 'raised in captivity and released by Controlled Shooting Areas and Captive Wildlife Permittees': a real statutory season sitting over a stocked, not wild, presence, with NGPC itself noting only unrealized potential for future wild establishment in the Panhandle/southwest.
Chukar has no self-sustaining wild population anywhere in Nebraska. BONO (NGPC's own ornithological reference) classifies chukar as an unaccepted/non-established species statewide: every documented release attempt across nearly nine decades, roughly 6,500 birds released in scattered locations 1938-43, a further 700-bird release in southern Scotts Bluff County in 1969, and smaller private releases since, failed to establish a breeding population. Nebraska's regulated chukar season exists only because the state bundles chukar with gray/Hungarian partridge under a single "Partridge" bag limit; birds hunters actually encounter are recently-released or escaped individuals, not a mapped wild range.
