Georgia DNR manages public dove fields on Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs), Public Fishing Areas (PFAs), and Voluntary Public Access (VPA) properties. The program offers 21 quota hunts (draw-based, application deadline August 15 through Go Outdoors Georgia system) plus numerous walk-in non-quota fields. Annual Dove Field Forecast published on georgiawildlife.com lists all named fields with acreage, crop plantings, and preseason condition ratings. Mourning dove season statewide with three segments: Sept. 5–Oct. 11, Nov. 21–29, Dec. 19–Jan. 31. Daily bag limit 15 (mourning + white-winged combined), possession 45. Full-day shooting from half-hour before sunrise to sunset. HIP registration required.

Official Dove Field Forecast published annually with complete named field list, acreage, crops, and condition ratings. However, forecast does not distinguish which fields are quota-hunt-only versus walk-in accessible—that information requires checking Go Outdoors Georgia system or individual WMA pages.

WRD publishes no dove density map -- the season runs statewide with no zone split -- but does run a real, geographically organized public-access program: managed WMA/PFA/VPA dove fields spread across the state, organized under WRD's own numbered Game Management region system (six regions, per WRD's own published 'Numbered Region Map'), with an annual Dove Field Forecast rating each field's condition. Confirmed named fields in all six of WRD's regions: Region 1 (Northwest Georgia -- Berry College, Coosawattee, Crockford-Pigeon Mountain, J.L. Lester, Joe Kurz, McEntire, McGraw Ford, West Point), Region 2 (North Georgia -- Buck Shoals, Dawson Forest, Hart County, London Farms, Redlands, Wilson Shoals), Region 3 (East Central Georgia -- Alexander, B.F. Grant, Cedar Creek, Clarks Hill, Clybel, Di-Lane Plantation, Lower Broad River, McDuffie, Oconee, Perry Dove Field, Rum Creek, Walton, Yuchi), Region 4 (South Central Georgia -- Alapaha River, Appling County Dove Fields, Beaverdam, Canoochee Sandhills, Hiltonia, Ocmulgee-Gum Swamp, River Bend, Rogers State Prison Farm), Region 5 (Southwest Georgia -- Albany Nursery, Big Lazer Creek, Blanton Creek, Chattahoochee Fall Line, Chickasawhatchee, Elmodel, Featherfield, Flint River, Hannahatchee Creek, Mayhaw, River Creek, Silver Lake), and Region 6 (Southeast/Coastal Georgia -- Altamaha, Dixon Memorial, Paradise PFA, Paulks Pasture, Penholoway Swamp, Richmond Hill, Townsend). This is an access/habitat-management signal spanning the whole state rather than a claim about where wild dove density concentrates; corrected from an earlier draft that only captured four of the six regions and mislabeled Region 4.
