Season is Sept.1-Nov. 2, 2026 (same window as the sibling snipe record), daily bag 25 combined (Virginia rail and sora). Possession limit is genuinely unresolved across sources -- one states it equals the daily limit (25, a 'no accumulation' rule specifically carved out for rails), another states 75; check MN DNR directly before relying on either figure. King rail may not be taken or possessed in Minnesota, though this hasn't been independently confirmed a second time.
No formal population survey program exists for this species in this state.
