This is not a density or range claim. Louisiana has no self-sustaining wild ring-necked pheasant population. LDWF's regulated pheasant season, open concurrently with quail season with no daily limit, is a legacy/nominal statutory listing rather than a managed huntable population, and LDWF runs no survey, stocking program, or range map of any kind for the species. No historical release or introduction program specific to Louisiana is documented; pheasant simply does not appear in LDWF's small-game research and management materials outside the regulatory bag-limit table. There is no sub-state region to describe.
