No CA-specific mourning dove forecast program exists — CDFW runs an annual statewide dove-banding program (~1,700 doves/year, 100+ volunteers) feeding the national Mourning Dove Harvest Management Plan, but this is retrospective banding-effort data, not a pre-season forecast. Only the federal USFWS Mourning Dove Population Status report applies, confirmed not yet published for 2026 as of a 2026-08-19 fresh check (still returns 404); expected ~September 2026.
