Wyoming has 8 distinct pheasant hunt areas with different windows, sex restrictions, and shooting hours. Area 8 (Springer WHMA) opens earliest (Oct 15-31, 2026, permit-drawing season, any pheasant) then reopens Nov 1-30 (any pheasant). Areas 1, 5, 7 run Nov 1-Dec 31, 2026, males only except specific sub-zones open to any pheasant. Area 2 is any-pheasant Nov 1-30 then males-only Dec 1-31. Areas 9 and 11 run Nov 1-Dec 31, any pheasant. Several youth-only hunt days also apply. Bag/possession 2/6 to 3/9 depending on area. Not HIP-regulated (HIP applies only to migratory species in WY).
