This state's classification carries no date range for the species.
Chukar is not on PA's statutory "game birds" list and has no season/bag limit. The only mention in the 64-page 2026-27 Digest is in the dog-training-regulations section, referring to chukars (and pigeons) released and shot on State Game Lands specifically for dog training purposes -- not a general hunting season.
Chukar has no wild, self-sustaining population anywhere in Pennsylvania and no regulated hunting season. Chukar is not on Pennsylvania's statutory game-birds list, and the only mention in the Hunting Digest is dog-training releases on state game lands. Pennsylvania is well outside chukar's naturalized North American range; any chukar encountered in PA are understood to be escapees from private hunting preserves or game-bird farms rather than evidence of an established population, and researchers/hobbyist sources agree PA habitat cannot support a sustainable wild population. Chukar hunting in PA occurs exclusively through private shooting preserves that stock pen-raised birds (e.g. commercial preserves offering pheasant/quail/chukar hunts).
No formal population survey program exists for this species in this state.
