Unlawful to shoot mourning doves resting on utility lines or fixtures adjacent to those lines. HIP registration required for all MT migratory bird hunters. Eurasian collared-doves (an unprotected exotic species, no license/season/limit) do not count against this bag.
No MT-specific program beyond the federal contribution; only the federal USFWS Mourning Dove Population Status report (Western Management Unit) applies, not yet published for 2026 as of 2026-08-19 (confirmed via direct fetch and search).
